Candidate of the Month: Thomas

Congratulations, Thomas, who has won AKA Recruitment’s Worker of the Month! 

Thomas has joined the business and hit the ground running! He is willing to learn and listen to the team around him and we’re excited to watch him progress quickly!

We spoke to Thomas about his work as a Warehouse Operative:

Can you introduce yourself? Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a family-orientated, Dad of three young ones. I love to spend time doing things together when not at work; we try and go away often to see new places and build our experiences as a family. I like to go to church, study, and occasionally…exercise if there is any time left in the week!

Why do you think it’s important to have such a good work ethic?

Work ethic is important in developing strong foundations within the workplace and the team. This not only ensures high productivity but also benefits morale and increases self-fulfilment for yourself and also your colleagues. 

What makes a great Warehouse Operative?

A good listener, with keen attention to detail, not just in fulfilling orders but maintaining health and safety and organisation in the workplace. Also, adaptability through lone working or as part of a team, and a humble desire to develop their skillset. 

What are the main challenges in your role?

The main challenges are learning new products and systems, and ensuring your work is done accurately. 

What are the best parts of your role?

The variety in work is just lovely, there are many things that need to be done. I also like the nature of the business, given the end user of the service, this is an essential and rewarding role. 

What do you like about working with AKA Recruitment?

From the first point of contact to today they have been honest with the expectations around specific duties, they are approachable and fast to respond to any questions I ask.
